Update May 25, 2015

So, this week was the best week we have had since I´ve been here in Jesus María. We found 20 new investigators and had 3 people in the church with a baptismal date!! The parents and sister of our recent convert, Mauricio Vasquez!! It was seriously a miracle. They´re all 3 going to be baptized on Saturday, the last day of transfers :) We are both way pumped!! It´ll be sad to leave my daughter of the mission, really these 2 transfers have flown by with her. We´ve found so many miracles here in Jesus María. I don´t really like change. It´s always sad to move companions and move areas, but iré y haré lo que el Señor me mande hacer. This is what I signed up for :) Jesus María is a wonderful and beautful place that I never want to leave. I would be more than happy to finish my mission here, but unfortuantely I don´t think that´s going to be happening!!

I love my calling, and I can´t believe it´s all coming to an end. A way quick end. Before I know it, I´ll be on the plane on my way back to good ol´Hemet Cali!!

Mom, good luck with the graduation planning!! I know it will be amazing and a beautful memory for everyone who goes!! :) It´s so weird I was at the MTC last year when you had graduation, it seems like time flies by so fast. Wow. And I can´t believe that Jess is already graduating and I´m super e3xcited about SHombree and her wedding!! Gah!! Do you know what her colors are? So she´s having her wedding on Friday, reception on Saturday, and my homecoming on Sunday (or you're trying to arrange it on that day) right? Wow a ton of stuff going on! Is some of the Finklea side going to be there? I´d love to see them!!

Sorry this letter isn´t super long, I had to spend a little bit trying to fix the computer so I could send some pics, but know that I lvoe yáll so much! And I hope you have  great week, I´ll write more next week. But thank you for sending me the birthday message!! It was a great day. the people here did a good job of makin me feel loved :) We´ll talk next week!
Hasta luego baby :)

May 11, 2015 Update

hey family!!

First off, I loved talking to you guys for Mother's Day. You guys give me the strength to keep going. I am so grateful to have you guys in my life :) You guys are such an amazing support and such a blessing in my life. Thank you so much.
I won´t bleach my hair mom, don´t worry :)

May 8, 2015
So today is the baptism of mauricio Vasquez.  My companion and I wanted to get all pretty for the baptism.  I was going to put on eye shadow, foundation, eye liner, powder, blush, mascara.  I ended up putting all of this makeup on and went walked out to do my studies with all this make up and I just didn't feel like me.  I felt like someone else.   It was so strange.  I sat down and started my studies and I couldn't focus because I felt like another person.  i looked at my compi and told her how I was feeling.  She told me I didn't look like me either.  She said she felt like she was sitting in the room with somebody else and that it was weird to see me doing the same facial expressions because I didn't look like me.  I also felt really uncomfortable with myself.  My companion said "Can you go and bring Hermana Romeril back.?" I went and washed off all my makeup and I looked in the mirror and thought "This is who I am."  Today, I finally felt the "click" that I've always wanted to feel. I've always wanted to figure out who I am - and that girl that used to wear the caked on makeup isn't me.
It feels so amazing finally getting who I am.  I don't need tons of makeup, or money, or a perfect body to feel like me.  Kelby Ann Romeril isn't made up of those things.  Make up doesn't mark or show my beauty, the light of Christ does.  The light of Christ is the best brand of makeup.  Yo udon't ned a lot of money to buy it--you don't need any $.  The light of Christ highlights all your good features, in the perfect, natural way.

Mitchell,
I love you so much!! I cannot wait to see you in november, seriously!! I hope you are doing well, you look really good!! Let me know if ther´s something I can do ok?
Sorry this letter is kinda short, I was trying to send pictures and my computer kept shutting down but know that I love you all so much, and Im so grateful for you. I hope all is well and I hope you have a great week :)

Our most recent baptism :)

We got BIKES!!

Week of May 4, 2015

Hello Familia!!!

So, to start off with, I´m not super sure what time we will be skyping you on Sunday, but my companion and I are trying to figure it our with some members so we can uset heir computer. But we will let yáll know asap :) We´ll probably let you know on Wednesday or Thursday :) I´m so excited to talk to you guys!!!! :) ;)

So, this week was pretty good, we went to the temple to work there and we were there for 3 days!! Hermana Wilson and I were so dang tired and by Saturday night we just wanted to be home! My voice was gone from my cold and talking so much so people could barely understand me. Hahaha. It was interesting. We traveled home and then we got home and the Elders were waiting for us with a sign that said Sisters on it. Hahaha. Then we went to church and we had someone go who is going to get baptized this Saturday!! His name is Mauricio Vazquez. He´s the cousin of a member. He´s really awesome, he has stopped drinking and smoking I think and he´s super prepared after years of hearing about the gospel! :) We just have so much to teach him this week, and Elder Koboldt has to give him his baptismal interview. It´s been hard to teach him because we have been at the temple for a while these past couple weeks, so we have a lot to do this week. Can yo9u all keep him in your prayers? It was a miracle this week because his parents have never wanted to know about the church, they´ve always kinda rejected it. But this week when we were at the temple we asked the elders to go visit Mauricio, so they did but he wasn´t there, but his parents were. And they invited the Elders to come in and they talked to them and actually went to the church activity the ward had that night, so that was a huge miracle. It would be so great to see that whole family in white. We´re going to go visit them tonight, we have a Family Home evening with him and his aunt and uncle who are members!

Thank you so much for sending me the SD card!! The day I got the card was the day I ran out of space on my other SD card. Miracle!! Thank you so much for the letter, too :) I really appreciated it. It´s on my desk  :) I hope you get my birthday card/letter soon too!! :)

In my interview yesterday with my district leader, he talked to me about the importance of setting goals and doing it long term and short termed. I had set a bunch of goals with my trainer when I was with her and it was cool to go look back and see what I wrote, I{m completing a lot of my goals I put, so I{m really content. It´s interesting, I didn´t set goals like how many people I wanted to baptize, or how many investigators I wanted to find every week when I was in training and setting goals for my whole mission. I set a lot of personal goals that would help me become a better person, and it´s really amazing being able to see these goals being completed. Really with Heavenly Father´s help, we can do anything. So goals are good. Keep setting them :)

Hey prom week sounded super fun!! I really enjoyed the pictures, thank you so much for sending them to me :) I´m glad you got to go hang out with Robyn and do some fun things, you deserve it :)

My relationship with my companion is really good, a really healthy one. My goal is to serve her. Do little acts of service every day. So one day I made her breakfast, sometimes I´ll write little notes, I bought her some tic-tacs and wrote her a little thank you note. Little things like that. Service really is the best thing someone can do. It makes everyone feel good. Sometimes we get in disagreements, but they never really last a long time. She´s the kind of person who likes to talk about things and work thigns out, she doesn´t like contention and she is really good about talking about feelings. Something she´s helping me better at. I am really grateful for her. I feel like she´s the kind of friend I´ve needed my whole life, I just had to wait to get to Argentina to find her :) She´s really great, I´m excited for the day when yáll get to meet her.

My favorite part of the mission is simply being a missionary! I am at a point in my life/mission where I feel happy with who I am. I enjoy being me, which is a cool feeling to feel. My companion has helped me realize that if I don´t love myself, it´s going to be really hard to love other people. So I´m happy with who I am, with my imperfections, my defaults, my talents, and I´m happy to be here in the mission. I love being able to talk to people and get to know them. I feel comfortable with the language, and with teaching the lessons, and basically it´s just getting to know people and helping them with whatever they need in life. I´ve been able to learn a lot about life, too. I´ve seen so many different people and so many different experiences and I´ve been able to see them from an outsider´s point of view, and feel guided in how to help them come closer to God, and along the way these life experiences of the people become my life experiences. I get to know how to deal with different types of problems in life. It´s amazing. But I just love everything about the mission right now. Love it. it´s a huge priviledge to be here as  amissionary.

My health is good!! Finally :) My stomach doesn´t even bother me anymore, like at all. My cold is going away too, I just have a cough like I always do in the winter, it´s starting to get cold here! But everything is going well with that, I knew it would all be okay at some point, because Elder Koboldt gave me a blessing a couple weeks ago and in my blessing he told me that everything was going to be okay, that in a while my health would be perfectly fine and that I just needed to have patience. Patience and faith. Heavenly Father really helps us when we show faith in Him. So that´s good .)

I hope you recieve your birthday card soon, Mom!! Sometimes the mail system can be really slow. And can you tell Grandma Romeril that no I havent received her card with money in it yet? I don´t have a lot of time to write her and tell her.

But, thank you for everything.

Update April 27, 2015

Hola everyone!

Me on P-Day

With a ward member, Luly.  She's a ward missionary!

This week was a pretty good week. We went to the temple and worked there from Monday until Wednesday. They´re pretty long days really but I´ve seen so many people come out of the temple tour to talk to us missionaries in the last room and there was one family that I don´t think I´ll ever forget about. They came up to me and asked me how they could be sealed together as a family, that they wanted that. And I said the first step is baptism and they were super interested, said they came through the temple because they saw it on the internet and got curious and wanted to experience it them for themselves. This all was such a confirmation that this church is sp true, and that God really knows his children! He knows what they all need. The first 2 nights we stayed with one of the assistants investigators and they speak English pero mal! They were born in Argentina and the grandma is from England. They were so awesome. Such a sweet family. And then the last night we went and traveled back to our area instead of staying at a hotel because we had appointments lined up for Thursday and we couldn´t miss them.

So, when we got home from the temple a cold hit me pretty bad! There was a cold going around all the missionaries and I caught it, so I was home a lot of the days with that and a fever, but I´m mostly all okay now :) Not a lot of updates on the week because that´s kinda what we did there!

When i got sick this week my district made me this sign and brought me some facturas

But I am so excited to skype you for mother´s day!! It´s coming so fast!! It´s so weird to think that this is all coming to an end, the mission, everything! It really does go by so dang fast!
Mitch is going to prom?? Atta boy!! I´m glad he doesn´t have a date. Girls are stupid anyways! Wait until college :)

I think Kait is going to have a boy!! I´m so excited to be an aunt!! I´ll come home like 2 months after baby Beck comes! :)

Ah and I still talk to connor every week! We´re still friends :) He is way excited to get married! That dog>!!

I love you all so much, I hope you have the best week ever and I´ll be talking to you all in a few short week!!!!

Update Week of April 20th

Hello family!!

So, I will update you on my health firstly. So, my stomach problem has gotten a lot a lot better,. And I´m not just eating jello and rice anymore, I have been adding things in and this week when I was working at the temple I saw Hermana Alliaud and she told me I have to start eating more things, that I can eat everything except fried things, junk food kinda things. So this week I´ve been eating fruits, protein, yogurt, all that stuff and I havent had any problems at all, and I haven´t had problems with my stomach, it doesn´t bother me at all. I went to the doctor on Tuesday to get things checked out and then yesterday morning I went and they took some of my blood and they´re going to check it out to see if everything is okay, and tomorrow they should be sending me an email with the results. So when I get them, I will let you know how they go, they should be coming through email. If they dont come this week, they will be here next Friday. But I really feel like Heavenly Father is blessing me right now. It´s really a miracle that I´ve been able to feel so much better and I haven´t had to take that medicine. I knew that not taking that stuff would be a good idea. But really really, I am doing so so much better. I feel a lot better, I have a cold right now, but really apart from that I´m doing well. I know that it´s hard being over there in the states and me being here in Argentina and me having these problems, and I know probably as parents it´s not fun to hear these things. And I´m sorry I always say I´m okay and sometimes I´m not feeling well, I just don´t want to worry you guys. I think I just have faith that everything is going to be okay. I think it´s probably hard for you guys because you get one update a week, and it´s either good news or bad news and you can´t ask questions that you need to quickly. But I want you to know that I feel a lot better. I´m okay, I promise. But I will keep you notified. Ask me instead of hermana Alliaud though, I will answer the questions you have. I´m sorry for putting you guys through this stress, I love you guys so much, and this is the last thing I wanted to put you all through.
So, mom I hope you had the best birthday EVER!! I´m glad that the email went through to you, I wanted to send you something on your special day!! :) I´m glad the Vazquez family did too :) They´re amazing. Hermana Vazquez always washes our clothes and always invites us to her house, so she´s way awesome! You are beautiful seriously. Happy birthday :) :) I still want to try to send you the recording i made for you, but I don´t have my recorder with me right now, but I will try it on Monday :)

So the temple this week was AMAZING! We worked a lot, 3 days straight for 12 hours straight! Let´s just say that my companion and I are beat! And also really excited to be back in Jesus Maria :)i e had transfers this week, and I´ll be staying with my companion fir 6 more weeks!! I´ll finish up her training :) I love her seriously, she is such a sincere, kind hearted person and she´s a great leader. Her potential is really really high, and I feel honored that God trusted me with her. Her spanish is also coming along really really well. People that meet her are always impressed that she´s only been out here for 6 weeks. GO HERMANA WILSON!

Our investigators are doing well, Alejandra, Rut, ELena, and Joel didn´t make it this week to church, but we´re really hoping that they´ll be able to make it tto church this Sunday. They just need to go already!! They´ll love it!
This week I was able to see Hermana Morris and Hermana Woolley! They are both going to be trainers, they are way excited :) :) I´m also really excited for them, they´ll be great :) Dang Mitch is going ot be on his mission really soon, the time comes very quickly!!
But, I´m going to end this so I can send some pictures to you guys, again, I´m sorry for worrying you all back there. I´m being honest when I say rhat I have improved so so much. It´s really miraculous. I love you all and daddy, I hope you feel better. Keep on keepin on familia :)

Update from Hermana Romeril 4-18-2015

Chillin' in the collective

Me and my compi!

I love her!
Hello family!! :) I hope all is going well up there in H TOWN!! We had to write home a little bit later tonight because we were in Córdoba all day receiving some instructions because all of the Hermanas are going to work at the temple Open House!! And guess what?!? President Uchtdorf is going to be coming up for the dedication on May 17 and we´ll be able to meet him!! I`m so pumped up excited!!
This week was, well, way interesting. We had the Sister Training Leaders come visit us on Tuesday but I had to stay inside all day with one of them because we had to go to the doctor and stuff and figure out what’s wrong with my stomach. We went to just a public hospital here and we went to a doctor and asked what´s been going on and I told him like barely anything when he cut me off and was like, you know what..it´s because you´re stressed out. So your body is reacting this way. So he gave me 2 different pills to take and then after we went and bought them but I got home and the Hermanas left and I really didn´t feel good about taking these pills. At all. So I haven´t taken any of them yet. But the Elders did give me a blessing. And I talked to Hermana Alliaud and my companion and we decided that there´s not really a way it could be just from stress. But this week I think I´m going to go to the doctor in Cordoba... I´m still eating only rice and jello everyday. I think my immune system is just really sucky right now too, I had a fever on Saturday and Sunday. But it´s gone now, I spent a lot of the week in the house. I felt kinda discouraged, because all of this keeps being a problem. But yeah, I know I just need to trust in God, let Him know I´m here to do whatever he needs me to do.
When we could leave the house this week, we started teaching a really amazing family. 2 families. One of the families have like 8 in their family, but we´ve only gotten to know 3 of them. They said they feel really good when we´re there in their house teaching and talking about the gospel. We´ve taught Rut, Ruth in english, Alejandra, and Elena. Elena is Alejandra´s grandma and Rut is Alejandra´s daughter. So we have another appointment with them this week, and we´re pretty excited for them. The other family we´re teaching is Serafina and Jorge. Serafina is Jorge´s mom. She´s an old abuelita I think she´s like 87 years old. Jorge is probably 47 years old and he´s blind. But we´ve been teaching them and seriously they are so amazing. The elders gave Jorge a blessing this week and it was really cool to see how comforted Jorge was. He has some health problems and after he got his blessing he told us he felt different and felt good, happy. And even before we could invite Jorge and Serafina to come to church this week, they committed themselves to go to church! Told us that they wanted to come. And then they gave us a referral to go visit this lady that was sick so we could say a prayer for her and teach her. We went and visited her and she received us immediately and we talked to her and the Elders are going to go give her a blessing too when we have our appointment this week on Wednesday I think it is. The priesthood is so awesome can I just tell you all? I´m so grateful that Mitchell and Dad have it. Seriously man. But also, when we were on companionship exchanges with the sister training leaders, my companion went and visited Cristina Lucero, who was going to be baptized on April 4th but couldn´t because she had to miss church because she was going to be in Córdoba. And Crisitna told my companion that she´s been thinking she needs to make some kind of change in her life, and she said that she feels like this gospel is really what she´s needing right now, and that she feels ready to progress. So that was really relieving. We thought we lost Cristina. But no, I think she could be ready to be baptized! The Elders also had an investigator, Marina, in the church this week! She´s so cute! She´s pregnant and she was talking to me for a little bit and she told me how she was catholic but she´s not catholic anymore, she wants to be baptized and keep coming to church. So that was really awesome to hear that.
Yesterday we had a different kind of district meeting. Oh we always have our district meetings here on Sundays. So we went and Elder Koboldt decided we were going to talk about how we are going to find new investigators. We started doing practices, and Elder Barrett had the idea of calling a bunch of investigators that they had in their phone who were from both the elders´ area and ours. So we called them and I talked to this guy and he said, What are you going to invite me to do? What´s in it for me? What do I have to do? And I said, we invite you to be baptized by someone who has the authority of God, and he said, okay! I´ll do that. We were all like, BUENO! He lives in the Elders´ area so they´ll be going to visit them this week :)
But yeah, this week was really good all in all. I guess you just gotta look at the good things that happen in everything. Thank you for sending the SD card seriously!! And about the pictures I Can actually go ahead and print them, I found a good way to do it, thank you so much for sending them all to me, they are exactly what I needed!!! :) You´re the best in the west!! ;)
Mitch, you´re awesome I love you man. I miss you and I miss talking to you! Ya vamos a poder hacerlo en solo 7 meses :)
Hey and I think my exact return date is November 15 so it´s coming up!! Thank you for al your support you guys, I am so grateful for each of you, I can feel your love even out here in Argentina, Never forget how much I love you all. Thank you for everything and I hope yáll have an amazing week :)

First week in Jesus Maria

hola familia!! So, my first week in jesus maria. It was really good!! Guess what? Norma and joaquin got baptized in san francisco!! I got permission to call her and talk to her :) She was so happy and felt so blessed to make this covenant with god. Oh my gosh I am so happy for her. I know this is all thanks to god, not to us haha. When I was younger I remember looking at the missionaries and I was like, they always look happy! Its not normal to be so happy haha. But on my mission I've realized that it is possible to be so happy! Like, theres so many challenges in the mission sometimes I'm just not even surprised when something hard pops up. But I'm happy even with the challenges. The challenges we have as a companionship in our area makes me feel like heavenly father trusts me enough to go through all of this. I enjoy being out here in jesus maria. I really do. We find some really good people to teach. And the members are working in the missionary work so hard! They find us people and our new investigators come from them. Really the people we find through the members are some of the greatest investigators who progress, so i challenge all of you to give referrals to the missionaries in your wards, I know they will appreciate it. Life is crazy and so busy, but heavenly father promises us with blessings when we do his will and when we help people come unto christ :)
My health is doing good!! Now We run every day haha the first 2 days were so hard during the day, my legs were so sore!! So sore that when we were proselyting my legs didn't respond and i totally ate it on the street hahahaa. My companion didn't know what was going on and neither did i. It all happened so fast!! We have lunch with the members every day pretty much and its really nice, the moms all make us healthy hearty food haha and hen we have fruit and, fruit in the house to eat so thats good.) :) : ) Mom get better soon, Ill be praying for you:)
So guess what? So many people have had lice here in jesus maria and in san francisco. I feel like its real live walking dead, except the zombies aren't following me, but the lice are hahaha. My companion got them the end of the last transfer and so I've been helping her take them out. And keeping my hair in a big bun on top of my head hahaha i told her, i wouldn't pick lice out of somebodies head for cualquier persona. And she laughed and said it's practice for when I'm a mom and i have to take lice out of my kids heads, that made me really nervous to be a mom haha.
So we have 5 baptism dates for February 21. 3 of those people have to stop smoking, and all of them are pretty addicted. So this is going to take a lot of faith and a lot of, yeah, faith in god that this can all work out. We`ve been telling them that they have to first believe in god and then believe in themselves, because if they don't believe in theirselves, its not going to work out very well. So today after p day hermana amaya and i are going to read this study of how to quit smoking in 8 days. We`re going to read it and see if it'll work and have faith in god that he`ll work some miracles. I have faith in him, he`s the best, :)
Hmm, but mom write about whatever happened this week!! I ove hearing about what you guys learn at church or in the scriptures and stuff like that because I'm able to share these experiences with my investigators :) Share with me things you would tell me if i was home, whatever you want :) I never get bored reading your emails, in fact, i always love reading about them :) :) what would you like me to write about? Anything in specific? You can write a list of questions or something like you do sometimes, i feel like theres just so much to tell you in an hour and i don't know which things to choose!!
Oh yeah, so one of the best parts of my mission, teaching norma and joaquin who got baptized on Saturday, we left hem with the pamphlet of the restoration and we got to the lesson to start teaching and i was like, this all starts with god is our loving heavenly father, and shes like, ya ya i already ready that, whos joseph smith? She prayed about everything we taught her and she told us that god answered her and told her that it was the right thing. And she said everytime we came to visit her she had less and less doubts, until she told us she didnt have any more :) It also helped me grow my confidence, because its really cool to think about the things that i teach someone with my companion really are true, god tells the people we teach that were teaching the right thing, it makes me feel special i don't know if that makes sense. Makes me feel like i have a big purpose here. That people don't see Kelby and her imperfections, but they see a disciple of christ, a representative, and thats the best feeling ever. to have these investigators trusting you, ah i love it.
But I hope you all have an amazing week, i love you all so much, Ill be praying for you like always ,

TE AMO!!!!
Hermana romeril

The night before P day
I love my companion haha
I love when the elders let us use their bikes!

I'm walking on sunshine!!!
